It’s a quote from The Typewriter Manifesto:
“We assert our right to resist the Paradigm,
to rebel against the Information Regime,
to escape the Data Stream…”
From Richard Polt’s book, The Typewriter Revolution, though I think the Manifesto came before the book… it exists in various versions in different languages at https://typewriterinsurgency.webstarts.com/
the paradigm i’m trying to resist is the digital one, the particularity of over-sharing, over-communicating, of under-thinking, of staying on the surface, that the smartphone represents. I’m trying to reach for my pencil and notebook, not my phone, in all those spare moments through the day 🙂
Any particular paradigm to resist, or all of them in general?
